Thanks all for your kind words. I miss my boy more than i could've ever imagined. I knew he wasn't right from the start and while researching arthritis i figured that it was probably something more serious. Unfortunately my gut feeling was right. Whilst under sedation the vet x rayed him and he had tumours that were so advanced that even amputation wouldn't have saved him. Considering what he was going through he had been eating fine, crying a little the vet did treat him with mess for arthritis prior to the x ray but all that did was stop him crying. I know that right til the end he battled on and i get comfort knowing i haven't allowed him to suffer anymore ?

the kindess thing in all the world is knowing the right time to say goodbye, not prolonging it because it is our dearest friend, but saying hi my friend you have suffered enough and i do not want you to be in pain and suffering, well done knowing that you have done the right thing for you beloved dog and he would have thanked you for that.may he rest in peace and be out of pain.
