Bubbly Dazzler (Daz) arrived in his new home with his two forever sofas on Sunday 18th January 2015. He travelled well to his new home in Tonbridge, Kent with his two new pals Millie and Willie a Dalmatian and Lurcher. Its early days but he's settling in well - he is a bit quiet but I guess this is normal I'm sure he will settle in well in time. As I write this he is stretched out on the sofa with a log fire burning....

Daz is settling in well, both my other dogs are a little unsure with a few grumbles but that's because they love living here so much so allowing another in is a big ask for them. Tackled all 3 on a walk this morning which is not easy with a very energetic Dalmatian leading the way. It was early before sunrise as I left and was hard to see as didn't have a spare hand for a torch! Daz is still very quiet, fortunately I'm working at home today, not quite sure how we are going to cope with his separation anxiety but we are taking each day as it comes. Every time one of us leaves the room he's in he gets up and follows. He even joined me in the bathroom this morning! He loves his sofas, as I type this he is spread out beside me - very chilled.

I`m so glad Daz is doing well. I have had the pleasure of walking him and he has a lovely character once he settles in. Don`t worry about him following you he will stop. My boy J.D followed me around for about a week now he is happy chilling on the sofa knowing I`m only pottering from room to room.

Some more photos of Daz and his new pals. Daz has settled in really well this week with absolutely no problems. As you can see from the photos a bed has been discovered, our existing hounds showed Daz how to tackle stairs on the first day. We had a brave cat in the garden yesterday but I doubt it will return - 3 very keen chasers ensured it made a swift exit! I will keep you updated on his progress.

Its 2 two weeks today that Daz came to live with us so thought I would post an update. We are making real progress - our two main concerns have been night time sleeping and leaving him when we go out. Our existing dogs sleep separately at night and we assumed wrongly that this would work with Daz too. It took us a while to work out that Daz wants to sleep with another dog at night (obvious really when you think how Greyhounds are kennelled) so now he is now sleeping with Wills our Lurcher at night and is much more settled. Only issue is he wakes up at 5.15 am each morning! So no dozing in bed here! Sure we can fix this once he settles further. Have bought a Adaptil Collar for Daz and a Diffuser is on its way - not really sure if these products work but am keen to maintain the chilled atmosphere that exists. I even bought a collar for my Dalmatian to attempt to chill her further as she can be bonkers sometimes! We went out yesterday for an hour to the shops and left all 3 dogs in the living room, left the radio on low and when we returned they were all asleep, so this too is looking good. Haven't let Daz off lead for a run yet, he watches my other hounds lapping the fields with great interest, I need to make sure he wont run off first. Fortunately we have lots of enclosed fields nearby so have plenty of safe places when the time is right. Haven't really perfected walking 3 dogs together however Daz walks so well on the lead it works ok - when we came to meet Daz for the first time we had in mind a few other dogs too and me and my wife had agreed beforehand that if we couldn't decide we would have 2 dogs - fortunately for my sanity my existing dogs decided solely on Daz so at least I'm not walking 4 dogs each day! Photo below taken today of Daz and Wills getting ready for their post walk morning snooze..... Attachment Deleted
