So very sorry to hear your news. I am welling up reading all of the lovely comments and dread the day that we have to post a similar message. I know nothing can take your pain away except the knowledge that you gave Fizz a wonderful rest in her latter years and that they were most certainly happy ones. You have done your job and she will rest - indeed - in peace.
Take care and try and focus on the best memories.

Thank you all for your kind words which are much appreciated.
Fizz was my first greyhound, like every hound she was very special, low maintenance, all size dog friendly, laid back, firework friendly in fact everything I could have wanted. She will be sorely missed by me and my family. I have been overwhelmed by kind comments from friends, neighbours, work colleagues, kids and mums I meet on the school run to whom she was a familiar sight, even the Lollipop Lady gave me a big hug.
I will rehome again, it may be sooner, it may be later, it's in the lap of the gods.

Hi Pat I was like you when I lost Bart he was and will always be a special boy to me, I still cry and miss him, we had Mersey at the time and she missed him so much that in the end Beau chose me, I was unsure at first as I felt I was replacing Bart and I could never do that, but Beau is so different and has helped so much with pain of losing him, that I would recommend sooner rather than later it was 8 weeks before we took him home. I understand and still feel what you are going through. Chris x

So sorry to hear about Fizz. You must miss her sorely. At least she didn't suffer and had an amazing retirement with you as mummy.
Big hugs and hope you find a new baby when you're ready.

Dear Pat,
I'm so sorry and terribly shocked to read this. I also havn't been online lately due to home commitments, and have just logged in to see this awful news. Sending you love and hugs from Alan and I. She was such a beautiful girl, but she could never have had a better Mum than you were to her. She had a lovely life, and you spoilt her rotten. Run free little sweetheart. We will miss you. Hazel and Alan xx
